Ailsa Chang Biography

Ailsa Chang an American journalist for NPR, working as a host on the program, All Things Considered, she previously reported on the United States Congress for NPR. She previously was an investigative journalist at NPR member station WNYC in New York City. Ailsa has received a number of national awards for her investigative reporting.

Ailsa Chang NPR

Ailsa joined NPR in the year 2008 as a Kroc fellow, at that time, Ailsa printed an investigative report into the public defender system of Detroit. The piece, which aired on NPR in the year 2009, was awarded the 2010 Daniel Schorr Journalism Prize.

Ailsa joined WNYC radio in 2009, Ailsa reported on criminal justice, terrorism, and the courts. At WNYC, Ailsa wrote an investigative report into (stop-and-frisk) search policies of the New York City Police Department. The series, which aired on NPR in the year 2011, earned her a silver baton in the year 2012 Alfred I DuPont–Columbia University Awards.

Ailsa returned to NPR in the year 2012, she is formerly a correspondent for Planet Money. On 1 January 2018 Ailsa assumed a co-chair “with Ari Shapiro, Audie Cornish, along with Kelly McEvers” on the afternoon series All Things Considered.
