Babita Sharma a British journalist, broadcaster, and award-winning author known for having served on the Board of Directors of the United for Global Mental Health as of April 2021. As of 2019 she served as the author of The Corner Shop.

She thereafter relocated to the BBC South Today newsroom in Southampton. Back in 2007, she joined BBC Spotlight Channel Islands serving as a video journalist and evening bulletin presenter.

She later joined the BBC News Channel back in 2008 after previously hosting the Your Money program. She later took over the main business role back in 2009 and thereafter joined the BBC News Channel and BBC World News in her current full-time presenting role.

She served as a live anchor for the BBC World News program Newsday from the main Broadcasting Centre in London, that started broadcasting from its new studios back on July 31, 2015, while Rico Hizon was given the primary broadcasting role from Singapore.
