She thereafter relocated to the BBC South Today newsroom in Southampton. Back in 2007, she joined BBC Spotlight Channel Islands serving as a video journalist and evening bulletin presenter.

She later joined the BBC News Channel back in 2008 after previously hosting the Your Money program. She later took over the main business role back in 2009 and thereafter joined the BBC News Channel and BBC World News in her current full-time presenting role.

She served as a live anchor for the BBC World News program Newsday from the main Broadcasting Centre in London, that started broadcasting from its new studios back on July 31, 2015, while Rico Hizon was given the primary broadcasting role from Singapore.

She as well featured in Celebrity Eggheads Season 3 Episode 7. Babita as well hosts a number of ceremonies, such as the Angel Film Awards at the Monaco International Film Festival as of 2011 to 2013 and the Wings of Hope Achievement Award ceremony in 2012. She as well serves as a moderator.
