“Iron Chef America” is an American cooking program based on Fuji TV’s “Iron Chef”. This is the second American translation of the series, following the unsuccessful 2001 broadcast of Iron Chef USA. The Food Network produced the show, which also aired a dubbed version of the original Iron Chef. This show, like the original Japanese show, is a cooking game show. In each episode, a new challenger chef pits her against one of the resident “Iron Chefs” in her one-hour cooking contest based on one or more secret ingredients and themes.

Hughes appeared as a standing judge on the first season of Chopped Canada in 2014. Chopped Canada is a Canadian reality cooking show based on the US show Chopped. The show features his four chefs competing in a contest for $10,000 and Chopped his title of Canadian Champion. It premiered on January 2, 2014 and ended on February 11, 2017. The show’s creators announced in May 2017 that Food Network Canada had canceled the show.
