While in college, she was the on-air director of the student-run television station WOLV-TV and served as president of the Society of Women Engineers.

Courtney is the second intern ever at WXYZ-TV in Detroit, Michigan, where she worked as an on-air producer for mentors Paul Gross and Chuck Gaidica for two years.

After graduation, he took a break from on-air broadcasting and returned to Elkhart, Indiana, in 2011, where he worked on weekend weather at WSJV-TV (FOX28) until the summer of 2016. She also serves as Michiana. 5K Director and Girls Community Outreach Coordinator.
