Eric Roberts an American award-winning Actor known for his role in the 1978 American drama film ‘King of the Gypsies’ as Dave Stepanowicz. His role won him his first ‘Golden Globe Award’ nomination.

He is as well known for his role in the action film’ Runaway Train’ as prison escapee Buck McGeehy, which earned his third Golden Globe nod and a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor.

In 1976, he started appearing in the soap opera Another World. It earned him popularity for it was a success but he did not enjoy that job. He later was discovered by agent Bill Treusch who helped him land on his first film role in the movie, King Of The Gypsies, a movie that was directed by Frank Pierson. This movie was a great hit and it earned him his first award nomination.

He appeared in a lead role in Raggedy Man a 1981 American drama and soon after, he was involved in a road accident that left him with a bruised brain, broken bones and injuries on his face that changed his looks in some way. The change in his look led to a change in the kind of roles that he played. He began playing villains roles with one of his known performance, Star 80, the 1983 film. This film earned him the Boston Society of Film Critics Award for Best Actor.

He then later appeared in other films like The Coca-Cola Kid (1985), Nobody’s Fool (1986), Best of the Best (1989), The Immortals (1995), La Cucaracha (1998) and Purgatory (1999). Besides the film industry, he has appeared in several TV programs such as The Drew Show, The Hunger, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Less than Perfect and Brooklyn Nine-Nine. He appeared in The Expendables, a 2010 American movie directed by Sylvester Stallone.

He earned a lead role in the film Deadline, a 2012 American mystery drama film. His supporting role in the American legal drama series Suits has been one of his most recent significant work in TV. This show premiered in 2011, Robert appearing as Charles Forstman in season 4 and 5 in 2015 – 2015.
