Frank also commented on a terror attack from London and on the presidential election from Tehran, Iran.

He reported from the Pentagon and from warships in the Arabian Sea in the weeks following 9/11.

Frank engaged in CNN’s election coverage in 2004, traveling with the campaigns of John Kerry and John Edwards. He also traveled with President George W. Bush in 2003-2004 and reported from the White House regularly. Hillary Clinton’s New York Senate run and the 2000 presidential election and its aftermath have been included in other political reporting tasks.

His KTLA, CNN, and KCAL-TV spot news reports in the 1990s included hurricanes in the Caribbean and the Carolinas; the California Landers and Northridge earthquakes and the catastrophic earthquake in Kobe, Japan; wildfires in Southern California; the Los Angeles riots, the case and conviction of OJ Simpson; and the death of John F. Kennedy, Jr. off Martha’s Vineyard.

Before KTLA and CNN, Frank reported for KCAL-TV (1992-1999) station in Los Angeles, WXII-TV in Winston-Salem, N.C., and KESQ-TV in Palm Springs. He has also written for the Detroit News and the Los Angeles Times.

Frank often donates his time to community groups and, formerly known as the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, is a lifetime member of the JDRF board. He is a member of the U.S.-Japan Committee, a people-to-people diplomacy body, and worked on Japan’s American Delegation of Leadership to Japan in 2006.

Frank is also a member of the Asian American Journalists Association and the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. In 1987, he graduated from USC with a double major in broadcast journalism and history.
