Greg Laurie Biography

Greg Laurie is an American author and pastor who is senior pastor of Harvest Christian Fellowship, which has chapters in Riverside, Orange County, and Maui. Laurie became a Christian at the age of 17, at the height of the Jesus Movement in Southern California. He wrote a book, The Jesus Revolution, about his experiences during the American spiritual revolution. Greg and his wife Kathy’s story will be told in Kingdom Story Company’s new film, “The Jesus Revolution,” to be released in 2022.

Laurie has two doctors privately, one from Biola University and the other from Azusa Pacific University. He serves on the board of directors of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. He is also the herald of the Harvest Crusades and has appeared on more than 1,500 radio and television programs nationwide.

In 1970, at the age of 17, Greg became a member of Newport Harbor High School through the efforts of missionary Lonnie Frisbee. At the age of 19, he had the opportunity to lead a Bible study with 30 people through the work of Calvary Church Pastor Chuck Smith. Harvest Christian Fellowship grew from this church and became one of the largest congregations in the United States. The church celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2013.

There is also a private school in Irvine and a satellite school in Lahaina, Hawaii. The church has about 5,000 members, and more than 250,000 people watched the weekend services online.

There are also more than 80 businesses in the church. Greg recently started a new church called Harvest Kumulani in partnership with Kumulani Chapel in Maui, Hawaii.

Following the 2017 presidential inauguration of former United States President Donald Trump, Greg was chosen as one of the church’s leaders to attend the National Prayer at the Washington National Cathedral. That same year, Gregg announced the “Year of Good News” by preparing a proclamation signed by many church leaders.
