Kim Hyo-Joo is a South Korean professional golfer who competes on the U.S based LPGA Tour and the LPGA of Korea Tour . She registered with her first golf club at the age of seven years old on her way to register for a taekwondo academy .
As an amateur , Kim led her native country Korea to a victory at the Queen Sirikit Cup , in 2010 . In July , 2010 , Kim won the R&A Junior Open Girls golf title in Fife , Scotland , by three shots . In 2011 , at the Junior Orange Bowl in Florida , United States Kim earned the title after making a birdie on the last hole .

She accepted the LPGA Tour membership in 2015 . In 2015 , Kim played 25 events on the LPGA Tour and made 22 cuts she finished second in the Louise Suggs Rolex Rookie of the Year race .
In 2018 , she played 22 events on the LPGA Tour and made 18 cuts , she finished runner-up to Thai Ariya Jutanugarn in a four-hole playoff at the U.S. Women’s Open
She has won four times on the LPGA Tour including The 2014 Evian Championship major , the JTBC Founders Cup on 22nd , March , 2015 , the Pure Silk-Bahamas LPGA Classic on 31st , January , 2016 , and the HSBC Women’s World Championship on 2nd , May , 2021 . Kim has won 12 times on the LPGA of Korea Tour she has won once on the Ladies European Tour (LET) and 1 time on the LPGA of Japan Tour . She lives in South Korea .
