Lionel Bienvenu Career

Lionel has been awarded Emmy Awards in 2011 and 2014 for the “Best Sports Anchor” and one for his adventure show “Lionel’s World” in 2006 . He has won an Emmy Award in 2019 for “Best Sports Anchor” in Denver . In 2011 and in 2012 the Colorado Broadcaster’s Association awarded him as the “Best Sportscast”. In 2014 the Westword Magazine named him the “Best TV Sportscaster.

In 1985 he worked for his first time at Lafayette , Louisiana , and covered the Ragin’ Cajuns of USL as a Sports Anchor and Reporter . From 1989-1993 he hosted the “Jim Mora Show” with the Saints and shortly after he shifted to WVUE-TV Fox-8 in New Orleans . New Orleans Press Club awarded him “Best Host” and “Best Sportscaster” in the year 1995 .

He worked as an actor for Fox Sports in L.A . after he left New Orleans in 1997 . The hour-long national highlight show “Fox Sports News Prime Time” which converted to “The National Sports Report” was hosted by him . In addition to that, he hosted on Fox “Baseball Today”. “The English Premier League Soccer Show” on Fox Sports Net and Fox Sports World was hosted by him from 1998-2000 and the show was viewed in Europe , Central , and South America , and U.S . Due to the popularity of the show there were six different teams that named themselves after Bienvenu .

In 1997 he covered the Super Bowl and the MLB All-Star game and in 200 he covered the “Subway Series” between the Yankees and Mets . He was a guest host on DirectTV “This Week in Sports” in June 2000 and on Fox Sports Radio in L.A . In addition , he hosted the Fox Sports Regional Sports Reports for Los Angeles and the Rocky Mountain region in 2001 .
In 2001 he joined Denver7 as Sports Director hosting the “Monday Night Live” with Ed McCaffrey who happened to be a Broncos receiver . In 2012 he hosted “The John Fox Show” and in 2013 he hosted “The John Fox Show

Bienvenu shifted to News and hosted the Denver7 morning show and “The Now” at 4 pm and later he shifted back to sports in 2014 . Covering “Rocktober” and the Rockies “Run to the World Series” in 2007 , 2012 the Broncos’ signing of Peyton Manning and their 2013 and 2015 run to the Super Bowl , also the 2011 Tebow-Mania which was unbelievable have been the best moments up to this date .
