Paul Lendvai Biography

Paul Lendvai is a Hungarian-born Austrian journalist. In 1957 he moved to Austria, where he worked as a writer and journalist. A former Social Democrat, he was considered a political skeptic and in 1953 was sentenced to eight months in prison and banned from the media for three years.

Lundvaj was a member of the Council but did not participate in the struggle for the 1956 revolution. He left Hungary to teach in Poland and went to Vienna, Austria, in 1957.

Lendvai was a member of the church but did not participate in the struggle of the 1956 revolution. He left Hungary to preach in Poland and joined the revolution in 1957 and 1956. He left Hungary to preach in Poland and went to Vienna, Austria, in 1957.

He also writes for The Economist and writes columns for newspapers and radio stations in Austria, Germany and Switzerland. In 1982 Lundwe became head of the Eastern European division of the public broadcaster ORF, and in 1987 he became head of Austrian International Radio. It is published weekly by The Standard.

On March 19, 2011, Lendvai presented the Hungarian translation of his new book My Land in Budapest. In his memoirs, Paul paints a picture of racism, political conflict, and anti-Semitism in 20th-century Central Europe. Lendvai is president and publisher of the international quarterly magazine Europäische Rundschau, based in Vienna.
