Rebecca Sugar is an American actress, writer, director, songwriter and producer. She is known for creating Cartoon Network’s show “Steven Universe,” making her the network’s first female cartoon creator. Sugar previously worked as a story artist and writer on the animated show “Time Travel” until 2013.

She also received seven Primetime Emmy Award nominations. Sugar grew up in Park Hill, Sligo, where she attended Montgomery University’s Blair High School and the Albert Einstein High School Visual Arts Centre.
