Reed Timmer is an American meteorologist and storm chaser who previously served for KFOR-TV’s 4WARN Storm Team.

Timmer got featured in an interview on a bonus feature for the Into the Storm Blu-ray and also appeared in a 2004 episode of Nova.

He previously worked as a storm chaser for KFOR-TV’s 4WARN Storm Team, with his SRV Dominator 2 as 4WARN Dominator 4. In 2019, he left AccuWeather to become a content creator for weather forecasts and storm chasing.

He later began Tornado Chasers on his website TVNWeather.com where the first two seasons debuted back in 2012 and 2013. Season 1 had 12 episodes. Only a few tornadoes happened that year. Season two had way more tornadoes than season 1 and one of the most notable ones was the May 31, 2013, El Reno tornado, killing Tim Samaras.

In 2009, while chasing storms in Aurora, Nebraska, a tornado strengthened while passing over the Dominator. The storm blew out the driver’s window and its exterior Lexan window failed to roll up.

Timmer along with his partner Chris Chittick suffered lacerations to the face from the flying glass. The scene got documented as part of the Storm Chasers TV series.
