Ron started off his career in journalism serving as a desk assistant back at NBC News in Washington, DC. He got back home to the Susquehanna Valley to serve as a reporter and news announcer back at WSBA radio in York.
He later joined television at WHP-TV workinga as a reporter before working for joining WGAL 8-TV and the NewsCenter 8 team back in 1983. He as well worked for WGAL 8’s Harrisburg newsroom, where he covered daily news in the state capitol region.
He then got back to his hometown, where his work was to oversee coverage out of the newly opened York newsroom. Bck in 1985, he got to be named the weekend news anchor, and 2 years later, he served as a weeknight news anchor on WGAL.
He has earned five Emmy awards just to name many awards he earned on his long career in broadcast journalism. He as well gotto be honored for his many community service contributions in the south central Pennsylvania region, U.S.
He as well got to be recognized by the state of Pennsylvania, the cities of York, Harrisburg, the NAACP, the Black Ministeriums in York and Harrisburg, the school districts of York, Harrisburg, the Crispus Attucks Associations of York and Lancaster, the Lancaster Urban League, the Pilot Club of York, the African American Chamber of Commerce, and also the Emanuel Church of God in Christ back in York. In the year 2002, he got inducted to the William Penn Senior High School Hall of Fame.
