Bookman back in 1998 joined Eyewitness News working as a reporter and was later got named as a weekend anchor of Eyewitness News. She currently works as a reporter and anchor at WABC-TV in New York City as well as a co-anchor of the 5 p.m., 6 p.m., and 11 p.m. weekend editions of Eyewitness News.
She previously worked as a weekend anchor at both Raleigh, North Carolina’s WRAL-TV and in Beaumont, Texas’ KFDM. She as well worked at WSB-TV in Atlanta, an ABC affiliate where she worked for nine years and served as the weekend anchor.
She as well served as an Olympic Reporter for 7 years and was the only local TV reporter to cover the games from before Atlanta won the bid, until the Olympic bombing in 1996. She has earned won three Emmy Awards for her reporting including Olympic Coverage and as well for her coverage of Valuejet Airlines Crash in the Everglades.
