Before her comedy career , she was a tour guide in London . She hosts a related podcast of the same name , in which she interviews people who have experience around sex work , stripping , and adult films . She was one of the four competitors who appeared in the special Christmas edition of The Great British Sewing Bee that was transmitted on Boxing day 2020 on BBC 1 . Sara Pascoe Family

Sara is the daughter of musician Derek Pascoe and Gail Newmarch. Her parents divorced when she was young , leaving her to be brought up by her mother . She has a sister , Cheryl Pascoe .

For a short while , Pascoe aspired to study philosophy at the University of Cambridge , motivated by both her enjoyment of the novel Sophie’s World and her desire to join Footlights , the university’s dramatic club . However , she read English at the University of Sussex , where she befriended Cariad Lloyd . After graduation , she worked as an actor and supplemented her income with temporary work , but found work “hard to come by” and declared herself bankrupt .
