Van Vicker Biography

Van Vicker a Ghanaian actor and the CEO of Sky + Orange Productions, a film production house. He joined the entertainment industry as a radio presenter at Groove 106.3 FM (1999–2000) and Vibe 91.9fm (2001–04) and later as a television personality for TV3 Ghana (1997–99) & Metro TV (2000–04).

Vicker has appeared in numerous Nollywood films alongside prominent Nollywood actors, including Tonto Dikeh, Mercy Johnson, Stephanie Okereke, Chika Ike, and Jim Iyke. He is usually cast as the male romantic lead, often alongside actresses Jackie Aygemang and Nadia Buari. He is often compared to fellow Ghanaian actor Majid Michel and Nigerian Ramsey Nouah.

He has since received two nominations for “Best Actor in a Leading Role” and “Best Upcoming Actor” at the Africa Movie Academy Awards in 2008. His Nollywood movies include My Soul Mate, Heart of Fire, Popular King, Gambling with Marriage, Harvest of Love, Stolen Will, The Joy of a Prince, Discovered, The Kingdom and Against the law.

Vicker is one of the renowned African actors worldwide. He has directed, starred and produced five films under his sky + Orange Productions since 2008. He earned the Best Actor and Director awards for his smash comedy, ‘Joni Waka’ in 2012.

His latest entrepreneurship entity, Van Vicker Training facility, provides a platform for students to train in the field in acting by professionals, The Van Vicker Foundation is an outreach program for the youth.

Van Vicker Education

Vicker along with actor Majid Michel joined Mfantsipim School. In his first film, ‘Divine Love’ he featured as a supporting character. Coincidentally, the film was also the debut roles for fellow actors Jackie Aygemang and Majid Michel who were as well cast in the female and male lead respectively.

Van Vicker Family

Vicker was born to a Ghanaian/Liberian mother and a Dutch father. His father died when he was six years old. He was raised up along with his sibling, a sister Phylicia Anderson.

Vicker is a married man, he married Adjoa Vicker and together has three children; two daughters and a son. They got married in 2003.

Is Van Vicker Dead

Rumors about his purported death spread back in 2010 and they have reoccurred several times. He had this to say, “This picture and news about my death in an accident has been in circulation periodically since 2010. What surprises me is people still fall for it every time.”

He reminded them “Well, I guess that means you care enough and that is a good thing but I want you to promise that from today wherever you see THIS picture and it says Van Vicker is dead bla bla bla DO NOT BELIEVE IT.

He concluded “With this, I anticipate the perpetrators will soon come up with a NEW picture announcing my passing on. I am NOT DEAD. I am very much ALIVE and SOARING. My story has NOT ENDED My MISSION is yet to be thoroughly fulfilled.
