He began his broadcast career with the NBC affiliate in Washington, NC. In the year 1986, he joined WAVY-TV 10 as our Peninsula bureau chief and has been with the station ever since, with some time off in the early ’90s to run for elective office. He is as well an avid golfer and likes to mention that, among the courses that he has played, St. Andrews in Scotland was his biggest thrill.
