Bell got promoted to work as a news director in February 2014 and as well served as the anchor of “NewsChannel 7 Today” for thirteen years. She enrolled and later graduated from the University of Florida’s College of Journalism and Communications and after her graduation, she joined WJHG in June 1994.
While working d at WJHG, she reported on a number of stories such as; traveling to San Diego to follow a Panama City soldier injured in Iraq on his rehabilitation, and was on the from the front lines of many tropical storms and hurricanes, likeHurricanes Ivan, and Opal that damaged the area, and as well reported from the cockpit of an F-16 with the Air Force Thunderbirds.
She currently future journalists via the Advisory Board for the UF College of Journalism where she is a member. She as well got mentioned severally in the category of Best of Bay Favorite Media Personality. As a beneficiary of a number of Associated Press awards, and Hearst Broadcast News awards. Furthermore, while working at WJHG, she served as a news anchor, reporter on almost every shift, and as a meteorologist for a number of years.
She is as well active as she volunteers on the board of the local American Cancer Society and worked as an honorary chair of Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. Back in 2013, she lost her mother to breast cancer and since then she got passionate about raising career awareness in society. In Northwest Florida, she got awarded for her volunteer efforts in fighting cancer with the American Cancer Society’s Hope Award.
While on her free time she speaks at local events found ranging from women’s leadership groups to local churches and schools. She as well have time with her husband and their two sons, baseball, skiing, cheering on the Florida Gators!, and traveling with her family.
