Gaither enrolled and later graduated from Clare High School in Clare, Michigan. She then joined Anderson University in Anderson, Indiana where she triples majored in English, French, and Sociology. After graduating, she tworkedat Alexandria Monroe High School as a French teacher.
She has long been a student of literature, with a special interest in the works of John Steinbeck. She has contributed to papers and reviews on her writing in a variety of academic settings. She has been published in the Steinbeck
Academic Journal both in the United States and abroad. Gloria has written more than 40 books, which include titles for adults and children, she has created scripts for over 100 videos in the chart-topping Homecoming series, and has been for 15 years the lead visioner for Homecoming Magazine, an innovative publication for which she was responsible for guiding the themes, writing features, and did milestone interviews.
Gloria is an erudite as she holds Honorary Doctorates from 8 universities and has additionally served on the Board of Directors for both the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities and the United Christian College Fund.
