J. D. Greear Biography

James David “J.D.” Greer is an American religious leader and is currently the pastor of Summit Church in Durham, North Carolina. He served as the 62nd president of the Southern Baptist Convention from 2018 to 2021. Greer became pastor at Summit Church in 2002. He is a member of the international Mission Board.

He became the 62nd President of the Southern Baptist Convention in 2018 and was honorably re-elected unopposed in the 2019 election for a one-year term.
