Jeromy Young Career

Jeromy founded Atomos back in 2010 and has worked as the CEO since its inception. He is as well a a video technology expert having over 20 years of technology and management experience. He previously previous worked as Business Development Manager at Canopus Japan and Blackmagic Design Pty Ltd.

Back in 2011, CEO he pitched his original Ninja 1 monitor to Steve Jobs. His role was recording ProRes directly from the sensor, taht got launched the strategic relationship with Apple and established credibility for the brand.

He as well has a Materials Engineering, Ceramics & Manufacturing degree from the University of Wollongong. After his engineering cadetship at BHP, he relocated to Japan where he commenced at Canopus (GV) and then learned the language. He later become Business Development Director, growing sales from $5 million to $60 million.

He then worked as a Business Development Manager role at one of Atomos’ current competitors, Blackmagic Design Pty Ltd. Before his founding Atomos, he served as a Sales and Marketing at Bluefish 444 in 2009.

Back in July 2021, he got fined for breaching Queensland COVID-19 restrictions by sailing to the Gold Coast from virus hotspot Sydney. He got at Southport last week with three other people on board his 34m superyacht the Dreamtime. He later attended the rugby union test between Australia and France having about 17,000 fans in Brisbane on Wednesday night, 7 Jul 2021.

He together with his party tested negative for COVID-19 after they were discovered by authorities when Queensland Health noticed “something was amiss” on their border declaration pass, Maritime Safety Queensland general manager Angus Mitchell said.

“We’ve boarded the vessel and spoken to those on board, and realised there were inconsistencies from what they’ve declared and what we knew to be the facts in NSW,” Mitchell told 7NEWS. “That’s led them to being marched off to quarantine and to all four of them facing an over $4000 fine.”
