After Daniel’s murder by Pakistani militants , the United States and Pakistani agencies joined to try to capture his killers and bring them to justice . In July , 2002 , one of the people involved in his murder was sentenced to death by hanging .

The guy’s name is Ahmed Omar Saeed Sheikh , a British national of Pakistani origin . His sentence was later commuted to life in jail . Other three men were convicted for their roles in Daniel’s murder .
Mariane had a son with Daniel , Adam Daniel Pearl , born in Paris , four months after his fathers death .
