Mr. G, New York’s wel known TV weatherman, having began his career at Albert Einstein Intermediate School in the Bronx as a school teacher. Serving as a researcher, he developed the first computerized weather software for use by children and their teachers in the New York City school system. He got hired out of the classroom after teaching in high school for a decade to become a TV weatherman at New York’s WCBS-TV in 1977.
Back in September 1993, he started working for WPIX as a weekday weatherman, where he earned five Emmy Awards and an Edward R. Murrow Award. In 2008, Mike Wallace awarded Mr. G with the Friar’s Club Life Time Achievement Award. He has served with prestigious networks, such as the New York State Associated Press Broadcasters Association and the New York Press Club, voted PIX News at 10 as the Best Newscast. Being an educational advocate, he is very interested in collaborating with students. He has toured more than 500 schools to date, in particular, lower-income areas, where he talks in classrooms (not only about the weather but also motivationally) and aims to attend at least one school a week while classes are in session.
Mr. G has taken part in New York City’s “Principal for a Day” scheme every year since its inception, calling the day “homework and test-free” and still gets a standing ovation! Mr. G is a board member of the R Baby Foundation and serves in the tri-state region to optimize pediatric services in emergency rooms.

He graduated from Francis Lewis High School and went on to Long Island’s Hofstra University and graduated in 1967 with a Bachelor of Arts in History. He graduated from Hofstra with a Master of Arts in Secondary Education and completed doctoral studies at Yeshiva University.
Mr. G can also be seen running in Central Park while he is not predicting or active in charity efforts, and has completed 34 New York City Marathons. He has raced over 75,000 miles, or three times across the world, as an avid athlete, and is one of a rare group of runners to attain the feat.
