Stephanie Hsu Biography
Stephanie Hsu is an American actress. With her performances in Joy/Jobu Tupaki on A24 and Daniels Everywhere in January and Marvelous Mrs. She is known for her role as Joy on Seasons 3 and 4 of Maisel and the Hulu cult series “The Path.” MTV’s Girl Code and more.
She started her career at auditions in downtown New York and eventually went to Broadway, playing Karen in the musical SpongeBob SquarePants and Chris in the blockbuster Be Ting Cannicula. Be patient. She went to Palos Verdes Peninsula High School. She graduated from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts and trained at the Atlantic Theater Company and Experimental Theater Company. He also trained at the Atlantic Theater Company.
She created the role of Christine Canigula in her first play, Make More Chill, performed at the Two Rivers Theater in Red Bank, New Jersey. She will appear in Off-Broadway productions at the Pershing Square Signature Center in 2018 and on Broadway at the Lyceum Theater in 2019. She was nominated for a Lucille Lortel Award and a Drama Desk Award for her performance.
In 2019, Hsu joined the cast of the third season of the Amazon Prime series The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel as Merlin. He and the rest of the cast won the 2020 Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series. Xu stars in the 2020 independent film Pray for Him.
