James Bookknight is an American professional basketball player. He plays for the Charlotte Hornets of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He also played for the He UConn Huskies on the college basketball team.

Booknight started playing baseball as a child and switched to basketball in middle school. He played high school basketball at La Salle Academy in Manhattan, New York. In September 2018, he signed a contract to play college basketball for the University of Connecticut’s UConn Huskies men’s basketball team.

He was selected in the 2021 NBA Draft in March 2021 and by the Charlotte Hornets in July 2021.
